"Hello, my name is Screech.  I’m not as noisy as my name implies.  I simply don’t like to be contained so if you put me in a carrier or cage, I have to tell you about how you are mistreating me.  I would much rather be held in someone’s arms or playing with toys.  My life hasn’t always been as easy as it has been since I came in to foster care.  Somehow I ended up on the streets.  On a cold, rainy day, I climbed up in a place that was much warmer.  That wasn’t the best decision I’ve ever made because it started moving! Fortunately, we didn’t go far and I started screaming for someone to help me.  It seems I had climbed up in something called a car engine.
"The first person who tried to “help” me only upset me more.  He sprayed me with water.  Couldn’t he tell I was already cold and wet?!? I moved further back so the water couldn’t get me.  Fortunately, someone called a friend and 2 people showed up to get me out.  I wasn’t exactly trusting at this point.  The ones over the engine reminded me of the one who had sprayed me with water so I wanted away from them.  What I didn’t know is I maneuvered myself so the girl could get her hands on me.  She scruffed me just like my momma used to and I let her get me out of there.

"I’m told I was lucky that I got out of the engine with no injuries but I think foster care is pretty good and this thing I hear about forever homes sounds really great.  I can’t wait until I get my own.  I’m not overly demanding but I do enjoy being around my people and all the good things that come with them.  I play nicely with the other kitties and the puppy in my foster home so I wouldn’t mind if my forever home had some other pets.  I do occasionally get a little growly when eating but that’s because I occasionally forget I’m never going to go hungry again."
