Domestic Short Hair / Bengal / Mixed (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young : : Small
Dakota is a cross between entertainer and lover. She enjoys playing with toys, especially bells with balls, so much if she hears someone else playing, she’s got to get in on the fun. But when she’s done playing, she’s off looking for a human to curl up on/beside to nap with. She ha very distinctive marbling which causes people to ask if she’s a Bengal. We don’t know her history but she certainly exhibits many of the characteristics of a Bengal. From the beautiful swirls in her marbled coat to her wonderful personality. “Bengals should be confident, alert, curious and friendly cats. The Bengal cat is a very people oriented cat that has many "dog-like" characteristics (they love to play fetch). Bengals are affectionate, bed hoggers, and very loyal to their people. They are quick to learn and adapt.” The characteristics definitely describe Dakota. Dakota was taken to BARC when she was a little kitten with her siblings and left outside in a plastic storage box with an interlocking lid and no air holes. When vet techs opened the box, they found hissy, flea covered, overheated kittens. The 2 calmest kittens were taken by another rescue group and PP stepped up to work with Alexis, Dakota, and Walker. Now they are ready for their forever homes. All fosters are spayed/neutered, current on shots, microchipped, dewormed and defleaed, and tested for FIV/Feline Leukemia.
