(01/17/2012) Cupid was rescued from BARC (City of Houston Animal Control) after being captured by concerned citizens and picked up by Animal Control.  The people in the neighborhood said he had been in that condition for at least 3 days.  The plea came out 10 minutes before BARC closed but Purr Paws volunteers pulled out all stops to make sure he didn’t spend the night there, making arrangements to get in after closing. The reason for the urgency, Cupid has an arrow going completely through his body.

Tuesday night, he was resting, as comfortably as he could, in one of our foster homes.

(01/18/2012) Cupid has been dropped off at the vet’s office where they will knock him out in order to take x-rays.  One of the vet techs commented that the arrow is an archery arrow.  Our first major concern is that it didn’t hit any of the major organs or an artery that is in the area of the arrow.  Then, can he survive the damage done.  Overall, his body condition looks good (all things considered) so hopefully he has enough strength to survive this.  The video shows him talking to me while we were waiting on the vet to come consult us.   The vets office has said they will take pictures as things progress.  Hopefully, they won’t get distracted and forget but the priority is taking care of Cupid.
